Product details

Description:

Toluene diisocyanate has two isomers: 2, 4-toluene diisocyanate and 2, 6-toluene diisocyanate (TDI).There are three specifications in industry according to the content of the two isomers, and TDI-80/20 is the most common one.It is a light yellow liquid with a pungent smell and darkens in light.Reacting with water to produce carbon dioxide is one of the key reactions in the manufacturing process of polyurethane foam plastics.

Packing:

To be kept in closed steel drums, net weight: 250 ± 0.5kg

Applications:

Raw material for polyurethane soft foam, high-carrying foam, semi-rigid foam, high resilience flexible PU Foam and PU coating.

Pay Attention

(1) This product is easy to react with amine, water, alcohol, acid and base, especially with sodium hydroxide and tertiary amine, which is difficult to control, and emits a lot of heat.

(2) The polymerization reaction speed is very slow at room temperature, but when heated to above 45℃ or in the presence of catalyst, it can self-polymerize to form dimers. It reacts with strong oxidants. When heated, it breaks down and gives off cyanide and nitrogen oxides. Therefore, the heating temperature should be strictly controlled.

(3) When the TDI bucket expands due to the release of carbon dioxide after water pollution, it shall be returned to the supplier first, and then the top of the bucket shall be punctured with a long cone or iron hook. It shall be noted that the damaged bucket shall be placed in a special management area and the exhaust ventilation shall be noted.

(4) When the bucket turns into water, check whether there is leakage. If there is no leakage, cover the bucket again and wipe it dry;If there is a leak, seal the drums underwater or send them onshore and reseal them. Watch out for any pressure buildup in the drums caused by water pollution.

(5) When the drums tip over and burst, dry sand or chemical absorbent shall be spread over the contaminated area (large area), and the damaged drums shall be put into (over) the VAT. The used sand or chemical absorbent shall be collected in the open bucket for proper treatment, and gases shall be discharged through the exhaust cap of (over) the VAT.In addition, the contaminated area should be thoroughly cleaned with diisocyanate neutralization solution.

(6) The disposal of TDI and waste drums may be foamed by reacting with polyols before disposal or incineration.Or react with a liquid decontamination agent to form urea derivatives.

(7) For drums containing TDI, 2 to 5 liters of decontamination liquid can be injected into the drums first, and cleaned by spraying or rolling method. Then, the drums can be opened for 4 to 6 hours to fully react, and finally flushed with water.

(8) Use universal joint pipe filling system during filling to prevent overloading.
